| I have known Shane for over 3
years and I can tell that Shane and his skateboard are very much in
love and will have many happy years together. I would like to tell
both of them that it was a very special honor for me to be asked to be
a part of this incredible day for them both. The rest of the wedding
party and I would like to propose a toast to the happy couple and wish
them years upon years of blissful happiness and our best wishes!! |

YOU WORK AT SOLETECH, HOWS THAT GOING FOR YA?
It’s going really well. I’ve been there for a little over 4 years now. Lots of good people and some great perks. Getting to work in the skate industry is pretty rad.

ETNIES PARK OR SOLETECH TF?
Definitely the park! The TF is fun and nice to be able to skate when it’s super hot or rainy but I get pretty bored in there if I skate it more than once a week or so. I need to have some tranny that’s bigger than 5 feet.

IF FOR SOME REASON YOU CAN’T SKATE WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Probably playing music, taking photos, or just hanging out with the lady. Maybe eating . . . I like food a lot.

ARE YOU WORKING ON ANY PROJECTS WITH YOUR MUSIC?
Yeah, I just started a new band with a couple friends called Pre Madonna. It’s a 3 piece kinda mathy, post punk sorta deal. We’ve got about 6 songs so far . . . it’s gonna be pretty radical. We’re having stickers made right now so you’ll start seeing those things all over the place soon.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO GO SKATEBOARDING?
Just to be better. I’m never really satisfied with my skating so I always wanna keep learning new stuff and progressing. That and Nolan Johnson, watching Nolan always makes me wanna skate.

THE BOARDS YOU RIDE SEEM DIFFERENT FROM THE NORM. WELCOME SKATEBOARDS, WHAT'S THAT COMPANY ALL ABOUT?
WELCOME is the best. It’s about creativity and magic and just doing something different. The wood is top quality, the graphics are awesome, and all the shaped boards are super fun. I’m really stoked to get to ride for a company that’s actually doing something unique and not just putting out more of the same shit everyone else is making.

GOT ANY FUNNY SKATE STORYS YOU'RE WILLING TO SHARE?
A couple months ago at Washington Street was pretty rad. There was a dude there with no shirt on and a giant, bloody "666" tattooed across his stomach sitting on top of the main wall playing death metal stuff on his acoustic guitar. Complete with vocals. I'm sure local guys probably know who I'm talking about but I'd never seen him. At one point he stood up, put down his guitar, and told my friend to film him. As soon as my buddy pointed the camera at him he yelled out "SKATE OR BE DEAD!" It was amazing. Then on his way out he proceeded to fill us in on exactly what all of his tattoos represented. I wish I could bring that guy with me whenever I skate.

WHEN WE WERE AT WASHINGTON STREET LAST TIME I HEARD SOMEONE SAY TO YOU, “I’VE GOT A JOINT FOR YOU IF YOU LAND IT THIS TRY,” DOES THAT MAKE YOU TRY HARDER?
It totally does! I'm sure they don't usually just give their weed out to random dudes, so even though I don't smoke myself, I appreciate the gesture. Plus, if I land whatever trick it is, I could just pass the earnings on to a friend of mine who smokes. I get the trick, the dude who made the offer is stoked, and a friend gets a free joint. It's a win for everyone!
