What are you doing when your not Skateboarding?
Just relaxing, I skate way to much to focus on anything else really. When i get back home i'm just eating and doing other censored stuff. I like playing Street Fighter & having tournaments with friends.
|
Frontside Pivot, On top of Washington $t.
A lot of people seem to refer to you as "Texas Chris" where in Texas are you from?
Right near Houston, Texas.
When did you start skating?
When i was 10, I started to roll down hills.
How was the ride all the way up to Orcas Island in the back of Nick's truck?
Awesome, I felt like i was stealing the best seat. But yawl acted like it was the worst spot. I'm glad it worked out that way.
|
Fs Ollie. W.S.V.T.
How long you been in SD for?
3 Years, San Diego is pretty sick. A lot of sun-light and we got Washington St, tons of street skating too.
How long have you been skating transition?
I barely skated anything that had a corner before i came here (3 Years ago), so i just learned how to skate transition at Washington St, that's why I go down there so much. I feel like a baby down there, that doesn't know how to do anything you know? So i just started going there a lot to learn new stuff.
3 Years in San Diego now, how long do you plan on staying?
I don't know, i want to go lurk other cities but San Diego is so good it's hard to leave here. I'm just waiting to see how it all turns out, so far it's just fucking hard to leave. I'm way spoiled now because of the weather.
|
Laidback Bs Smith, Memorial Keyhole.
Brandon Perelson: What happened to those Board shorts you used to wear?
Those were my Brothers swim shorts they were my lucky shorts, but it just got too cold down below when i was skating [Laughs].
Brandon Perelson: So you've pretty much rolled into everything we've been to, What's the gnarliest roll-in you've done?
There was this rock pool i went to with Rye, i slammed 3 times repeedaly onto my broken wrist. The pool had like 5' ft of vert, and it was 8 ft' deep. There's rocks in the deep-end so the only roll-in was one that went straight into the other wall in the deep end. So i would roll-in but just slam into the other wall. I made the roll-in but just sung out on the other side.

Bluntside, Chicano Park.
How do you feel about Neal Young?
Ohh Neal Young, well Rocking in the Freeworld is like "I can only do this trick, if i'm listing to that song." But i hate Neal Young.
Has anybody helped you out/housed you?
Yeah Danny helps me out a lot, and Zack. I gotta thank those 2 dudes a whole lot. They've helped house me, and i'm pretty much living Rent free. So a huge thanks to those guys, i wouldn't be skating as much if it wasn't for them.
|
Pivot Fakie, Washington St.
What's up with Rye?
I met him when i moved here, We both had way to much time on our hands at Washington St, it was funny because we didn't trust or talk to each other for like a year. I would always just be like "I don't know about that guy." But now we skate together all the time.
Anybody you'd like to thank?
Hurvey, Danny, Zack Spain, Betsie, Family all the dudes down at Washington St, thanks for letting me be accepted and coming down there. Matt @ Route 44.
