Josh kicks it off at Clairmont with a little night session then throws things into full vert swing.
Sometimes you go for it. You just say “Fuck it” regardless of all the consequences, pain, or disappointment. Ivery Turner has built these small and very fun D.I.Y. spots in Ocean Beach for years. So when he mentioned trying to build the Orchard St spot again it was no surprise to me.
Get that weekly dosage of Weekend Stoke! Get out there and shred your weekend away. Featuring (Killer chick band from SF) @Coogan_, @AlBrunelle, Drew Dezort, @Twist_Craft, @RileygarrettStevens, @JahStafford
It’s not very often you find a pool in North Park, much less a Blue Heaven. This gem was discovered by my good bud HEMAN. He hit me and a few other guys up to give him a hand emptying it, but he was so excited he already emptied 200 bucket loads solo.
The first glance.
Then we showed up the next day.. ( HEMAN let us know, this was a full barge and really had no idea what could happen, possibilities were endless ) I saw this plaque, any pool skater knows – this is a sign from the skate gods – transitions below the murky green water were assured.
The boys were already at it.
After pumping out water for about an hour, We got to some real thick water that was pretty much the most deadly sludge I’ve ever seen. With a few more feet to empty.
You find some interesting things when emptying pools.
This was Chris LaRue’s first pool mission.
Truman was killing it the whole time, of course.
Stafford getting down on the pump duty, nice and crusty.
After mass amounts of swet, mud, beers, and hours of dedication. The boys started to shred!
We were lucky to have a few sessions in this epic pool, I’m sure you’ll see coverage soon!
All good things come to a end, now go find yours!
Well it’s the last day of July. A lot of Birthdays this month, hot ass fuck skate sessions, beaches, and BBQing! The best part of July is also having most schools out of for Summer. So we can session during the weekday! The 29th was my birthday, spent the whole day in TJ getting some dental work – not the ideal birthday but it got me super hyped to get back down to TJ with a crew and film some shit soon! There’s endless spots, and I didn’t see any skate stoppers?
Me and Josh Stafford have been working on wrapping-up a full part for Strange Notes. Recently we hit Hawk’s ramp for some maneuvers – padding up.
The walk to the top, get that PMA.
Yeah, I really need to learn how to shoot photos in-doors. I’ve spent my entire photography experience learning how to use natural light to be honest. So indoor photos & flash’s are extremely un-natural for me.
Another example, but a beautiful executed invert by Stafford.
Back to the streets! Balboa park offers a lot of fun flatground. Jamie Cunningham with a Fakie Heel in a game of S.K.A.T.E. w/ Chris Coogan.
I took Chris Coogan to Dead Man’s Ditch because he said he’d never been. A few tricks were thrilled, and this Bs Noseblunt was just the first of many that went down very quickly.
Then down to check-out this hot spot.
Switch Boardslide with some goodness after. Coogan has a Rip Clip coming from TSM in a few days! Watch for it.
Stopped by Jesse Corbett’s Union Leatherworks Garage, always feels good to keep the DIY ethic’s in your day.
Coogan and Ricky Holderby checking out this tail short rail.
Ricky gets a Bs Noseslide. This wasn’t the first time either.
David Cobb – 5050 the bottom part of the rail, so gnarly.
On a side note* During the session BK decided to go dirt boarding down the hill.
Ricky and Jesse Silva getting those clips! This is right before the make.
And right after the make! Ricky is a blue-collar working man!
Coogan and BK sit back and enjoy the show.
Now to this spot, it’s amazing how the most simple things can end up the best sessions. Brendan Keaveny gets a Pole Jam truck knee.
Coogan’s down – Mellon jammer
Ricky too!! Jah Jamming that bad boy with style.
Then Jesse Silva pulled off this crazy Fs Rock stall, here’s my shitty documentation of it.
Wait, it’s not over. Now BK gets this fucked trick. You can name this one.
Alexis Mariena caught all the action on the VX. You better believe it’s going to look amazing as his work always does.
Headed to Horace Man and Chris LaRue gets a Bs Tailslide
Chris learned a new trick on this ledge, Bs Crailslide. He didn’t like the pinky, but I had to use this one just because it’s too funny.
Better be quick!
BK gets down with a Fs Nosegrind zest.
Wax on Wax off.
Then Brendan got a bad ass line with Lurkville founder and over-all rad dude Tyrone Taylor.
See ya in the streets!!
Just a couple un edited and raw clips of the homies to get you hyped for that weekend shred!
Ft. Truman Hooker, Brendan Keaveny, and Josh Stafford.
Go get that free slurpee today at 7-11! Here’s a couple quick clips to keep that weekend dosage of stoke. Ft, Al Brunelle, Ben Johnson, and Josh Stafford.
The summer is in full swing, lately I’ve just been staying around town and trying to skate as many local spots as possible.
Vert Dog and Street Tech figuring out how to skate this Euro gap in Santee.
While Truman decided to air out his feet, seemed like an approbate time.
Brendan Keaveny plot and planning something
Here’s some raw clips at Home Ave, Carlsbad, Perfect Ditch and the new Lakeside Skatepark. Featuring: Taylor Ruiz, Al Brunelle, Nick Palmquist, Trevor Ward and Josh Stafford.
